BIRTHDAY: 11 July – Hugo Sánchez (Football)
FOOTBALL – Hugo Sánchez is 54 years old today. Sánchez is one of the most prolific goalscorers in the history of the Spanish top flight. The Mexican striker racked up 234 La Liga goals (just 17 shy of all-time top scorer Telmo Zarra’s mark of 251), spearheading Real Madrid’s title onslaught in the late 1980s. Sánchez had a trademark somersault to celebrate his goals.
