On Sunday Benfica beat sc Olhanense 2-0 to clinch their 33rd Portuguese league title and their first championship title since 2010. Portuguese record holders Benfica have now joined a select group of 10 clubs with at least 33 domestic league titles.
FOOTBALL – Luis Suarez scored once in Liverpool’s 3-2 win at Norwich City on Sunday, to lift his season totals to 30 goals in 30 Premier League appearances. Suarez is the seventh player to score 30 PL goals in a season, after Andy Cole, Alan Shearer (3 times), Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin Phillips, Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie.
CYCLING – On Sunday, Philippe Gilbert won the Amstel Gold Race for the third time. He was also victorious in 2010 and 2011. Only Ducthman Jan Raas has won the Amstel Gold Race more often (5 times: 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1982).
