THE WAVE: Real Madrid – Juventus
FOOTBALL – Real Madrid and Juventus drew 1-1 in Madrid on Wednesday. Juventus equalled FC Barcelona and Bayern München in reaching the Champions League final (since 1992/93) for the fifth time. Only AC Milan have more final berths (6).
Real Madrid had 22 total shots while Juve had only seven. This is clearly shown in the wave below as Real Madrid was pushing harder to score even after being 1-0 up after 23 minutes. Continue reading
REVIEW: Burnley suffer 7th top flight relegation
FOOTBALL – Despite beating Hull City 1-0 on Saturday, Burnley were relegated from the Premier League because of results on other grounds. It was Burnley’s second relegation as a promoted side in the Premier League era (1992 onwards). Only Crystal Palace has been relegated more often from the Premier League as a promoted club (3). FOOTBALL – Manchester United won 2-1 at Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday. Liverpool were down to 10 men after Steven Gerrard was sent off only 42 seconds after coming on at half time.
